Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Future Sight Guide collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask for a copy or ask us to delete it. It applies to anyone who visits futuresightguide.info and to anyone who writes to us through the contact form.
What you send us
Your name, email address and message, only when you use the contact form.
What we never do
We do not sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles of individual readers.
Where to ask
Access, correction and deletion requests go through the contact page.
Data we collect
Most of what reaches us comes from you. When you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name and email address you type, plus the content of the message itself. If you write about your screen habits and eye symptoms, that text is stored along with the rest of the message — so please keep the description general and avoid pasting medical records, test results or anything else you would not want sitting in an inbox. If a future search is easier with that detail, mention it in the message and we will tell you what is useful and what is better kept private.
A smaller amount of information is collected automatically. Standard server logs record which pages were opened, roughly when, and the approximate location derived from your IP address. Those logs exist so that hosting providers can keep the site reachable and so we can spot a broken link or a page that loads too slowly. This technical data is not linked back to a name from the contact form, and we do not use it to single out individual readers.
Why we collect it
Every field the contact form asks for has a job. The message body lets us answer the question you actually asked, and patterns across many messages show us which topics — burning eyes, blurry focus at the end of a shift, neck tightness after hours at a screen — deserve a clearer page. That is the whole purpose. We are not in the business of tracking people who read about eye strain.
Technical information works the same way, in the other direction. It tells us that a guide is being found from Indonesia, that a particular diagram-free page is abandoned quickly, or that an image is slowing down the site on mobile data. We use those signals to fix the site. We do not use them to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not pass them to anyone who could.
Contact form
Used to reply to your message and to decide which guide topic needs work next.
Server logs
Used to keep the site online, catch errors and watch for load times that make pages hard to read.
Anonymous analytics
Used in aggregate to see which explanations land and which need a plainer rewrite.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site sets a small number of cookies. Some are necessary for the site to work at all — they remember, for example, the state of a menu you opened. Where anonymous analytics are enabled, a further cookie records that a page was viewed, without tying that view to your name or email address. No cookie on this site is used to follow you across other websites, and no advertising network receives our cookie identifiers.
You can control cookies from your own browser settings: blocking them entirely, or clearing them after a visit, will not prevent you from reading any page on this site. The only thing you may lose is a remembered set of preferences. The full list of cookie types we use, and how to switch each one off, sits in the Cookie Policy, which forms part of this policy.
How long data is retained
Contact form submissions
Kept while the enquiry is open, and for a reasonable period after so we can find the thread again.
Handled on request
Server logs
Retained according to standard hosting practice, then rotated out automatically.
Rotated by host
Analytics data
Held in aggregate form, so no single person can be picked out from a report.
Aggregate only
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not trade contact details for free services. A short list of providers does handle data on our behalf: the hosting company that keeps the site running, and — where enabled — an analytics service that counts page views. Both act on our written instructions and are bound to use the data only for the purpose we set out. Neither is permitted to build its own audience from our readers.
Outside those providers, we disclose data only when the law requires it — for example, in response to a valid request from a competent authority. If we ever need to share information for a reason not covered here, we will say so clearly on this page before it happens.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold — encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, and regular software updates on the servers behind the site. Those measures reduce risk; they do not remove it. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is entirely secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection, and we would not want you to rely on one.
The practical advice is simple. Please do not send sensitive personal information or medical records through the contact form. If your question needs that kind of detail, write a general description of the situation in the form and ask what we would need — we will explain the next step before anything clinical is shared.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to a particular use of your data, or ask us to stop using it for a specific purpose. Requests are made through the contact page, and they do not have to come with a reason.
We aim to respond within a reasonable period. Occasionally we will ask one or two questions to confirm that the request is really yours — for example, whether the reply should go to the address that sent the original message. That check protects you, not us. Once the request is settled, we will write back with either the information you asked for, the change you requested, or a plain explanation of why we cannot act on it.
Changes to this policy
The policy will be updated when a law changes, when a new provider joins the stack, or when the site starts or stops using a particular tool. The current version always lives at this address, and the review date at the top of the page tells you when it was last looked at. If the change is significant — a new use of personal data, for instance — we will flag it on the page rather than quietly rewriting a paragraph. Continuing to use the site after an update means the revised policy applies to you.
Questions about this policy
Can I read the site without giving any personal details?
Yes. Every guide on the site is open without a form, a sign-up or an account. Personal details only reach us if you decide to write through the contact form. If you never use it, the only thing the site records is anonymous page activity in server logs and, where enabled, aggregate analytics.
How do I ask for a copy of what you hold about me?
Send a short message through the contact page and say you are making a data request. Include the email address you may have written from, so we can match the record. We will reply within a reasonable period, confirm what we hold, and explain anything that needs clarifying before we send the copy.
What should I not send through the contact form?
Please avoid medical records, test results, identity documents and anything else you would not want stored in a message inbox. A general description of your screen habits and how your eyes feel is enough for us to point you to the right guide or suggest seeing a professional. If more detail is genuinely needed, we will tell you how to share it safely rather than have you paste it in.
Do you use my message to write site content?
We may use the topic of a question to decide which guide needs a clearer explanation, but we do not publish your message, your name, or your email address, and we do not quote readers without asking first. If you are happy for a phrasing to be reused, say so in your message and we will treat that as permission for that specific point.

Data requests
Use the contact page and mark your message as a data request, so it reaches the right queue first.
Future Sight Guide publishes education on digital eye strain, screen habits and the 20-20-20 rule. A guide is not medical advice — if symptoms persist, see a professional.
